Saw Military action during the War of 1812. Lost his leg during the Battle of Windmill. []

While a Lieutenant, Lt. Philip was serving in the 2nd Stormont Militia [] [] during attacks on Fort Oswegatchie and Ogdensburg.

Lieutenant and Acting Adjutant General Alexander McLean, Captain Morgan and Lieutenant Empey were the Officers involved in this attack.

All three men were credited and their actions accounted for,  in this Military Action by a witness: G. MacDonell.
Promoted to Rank of Captain

Now, Capt. Philip Empey, was granted 400 Acres in Madoc Twp.


Philip`s original Interment location- needs citation. said to have been in one of the Lost Villages that were displaced due to inundation during the construction/ expansion of the St. Lawrence Seaway on July 1st, 1958.
Philip`s actual Headstone, is located within the West Wall, at the Upper Canada Pioneer Village, Dundas, Ontario, Canada- commemorating he and others for their contributions to Canadian History.
On January 25, 2013, I discovered Philip`s Plaque Photograph on Findagrave #103272769

I have sent edit information to the Photographer, in hopes of the site transfer to myself for maintenance.
