GODDARD, Ralph

London Metropolitan Archives: Ralph, son of William and Margaret GODDARD baptised 29 December 1793 in St Marylebone (born 7 December 1793)

Ralph GODDARD, bachelor, married Sarah HERBAGE, spinster, on the 19 January 1818 in St.Marylebone. Both signed their names. Witnesses: Wm GODDARD and Elizabeth Ann GODDARD

Ralph refers to "a promising lad" rather than "my son". If he only married Sarah in 1818 and both he and Sarah were 26 years old, as listed in The Settler Handbook, then it seems unlikely that George GODDARD, aged 11 or 12, was their son. He could have been an adopted son.
