Raymond A. LeGault, 84, Harbor Beach, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Courtney Manor under hospice care. He was born on September 12, 1923 in Detroit, son of the late Alfred and Julia (Kowalski) LeGault. On March 6, 1943, Ray and Carolyn Geiger were united in marriage in St. Anthony's of Helena. Ray served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was the owner and operator of the Rainbow Bar in Harbor Beach and later the Harbor Light, from 1953 to 1971. He became owner of Smith Distributing in Bad Axe in 1974 and operated it until his retirement in 1994. Ray was a member of Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach, past president of the Michigan License Beverage Association, a member of the Table Toppers, the Knights of Columbus in Sandusky, the American Legion Post 197 of Harbor Beach and the Port Hope Grindstone Sportsman Club. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, Harbor Beach; children, Richard (Beverly) LeGault, Sandusky, Bonnie Henne, New York, Cindy (Jim) Carmody, Rochester Hills, Gene (Barb) LeGault, Harbor Beach, Lynn (Gary) Champagne, Elkton, Deb (Jerry) Hessling, Harbor Beach and Rob LeGault, Sandusky; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and two brothers, Richard LeGault, Alpena and Jay LeGault, Lansing.
