About Remember Luce (Munson)
The name of Israel Luce's wife is a conjecture by Banks based on the statement of a descendant. Her parents are unknown. It has been suggested she was a sister of Capt. Thomas Munson, of New Haven, and therefore a daughter of John Munson and Elizabeth Sparke. However, they lived at Rattlesden, Suffolk, not in Gloucestershire. Their known children were all born at Rattlesden. There is no record of a daughter Remember.
There is some chance, albeit remote, that the family is connected with that of the retired Admiral Sir William Monson, who in 1611 intercepted Lady Arbella Stuart outside Calais after she escaped from the Tower of London.
