Remember Read, baptized 26 April 1657. She was the 10-year-old daughter mentioned in her father's probate records.
Before 30 December 1680, Remember married Josiah White. He was the youngest son of Resolved White and Grandson of William White of the Mayflower.
Josiah had moved to Salem with his parents by 25 March 1678, when he was ordered to take the oath of allegiance. He was taxed there on 23 November 1683. On 15 February 1691 Josiah and his brother-in-law Jacob Read were sureties for their brother-in-law Jehosaphat Rogers for having a child too soon after marriage.
Josiah was a carpenter "of Salem" on 27 October 1702 when he sold six acres of land in Salem with a house and barn to Richard Waters. He was living in Boxford, Massachusetts, when he mortgaged his property on 13 May 1707.
Josiah White Sr. of Boxford, house carpenter, wrote his will 3 March 1710, and it was proved 5 June 1710. He mentioned his wife Remember, sons Josiah, Joseph, Samuel (under 21) and daughters Sarah White and Hannah White (under 18).
Remember White, "one of the daughters of Thomas Read, late of Salem and widow of Josiah White," sold her interest in her father's estate to her brother, Isaac Read, and documented that in an indenture dated 23 December 1713.
