Charles Baker Davidson was the fourth son of Rev. Andrew Baker Davidson and wife Susan Dorman. He was raised in Rockbridge County, Virginia. He studied at Washington College, graduating with a Doctor of Divinity degree, and became an Episcopalian minister. His first church was in Indiana. Later he became the rector of St. John's Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. He died on October 5, 1874.
