Rev. Rhoderic Hylton "Rhode" Murray was in the Civil War Roll Co. D. 14th Ky. Volunteer Infantry.

This family lived on George Creek in Lawrence Co., KY. He is listed in the Kentucky Land Grants Record, Vol. 1, part 2, pg 1530. He had 350 acres on the George Creek watercourse in Johnson Co., KY. Rhoderick was a pominent United Baptist minister. He served as moderator and Elder (who preached the introductory sermon) in the Paint Union Associaton of United Baptist.. He was appointed commissioner of Education for the county. He is buried in the Old Ward Cemetery, Offhutt, KY, on long point angling toward Big Sandy.
