As told by Ethel Taylor: "Robert Johnson was at one time a prosperous doctor in Elkin. He married 3 times. He was very poor when he died. At one time he asked Ethel Taylor to take him in. She told him she was working and just couldn't. Robert and Grace (first wife) had a son named Hansel. He went to school at Farmer with Lillie May Scarboro. He always had more money than anybody else."
