Biographical Summary

"Sir Robert Preston of Preston - Second son of Sir John Preston of Valleyfield, obtained a charter of the lands of Preston, in Mid Lothian, on the 20th August 1663. He was knighted, and admitted an Ordinary Lord on the 4th March 1672, in place of Sir John Scougall of Whitekirk, and died in October 1674, while on a visit to Valleyfield."
