Additional Curator's Notes:

Robert Stith (1606-1654) was born in Kirkham parish and died in Charles City County, Virginia. He married Mary Townsend (1622-1668), daughter of Thomas Townsend and Mary Newgate. They were married in England, started a family, and then migrated to Virginia c.1650. Mary’s family also emigrated, but went to Massachusetts. Robert and Mary were the parents of John Drury Stith, born in England and baptized in Lancashire County, England. Maria Edmonds-Zediker, Volunteer Curator, 8/20/2011.

Child(ren) of Robert Stith and wife Mary Townsend:

• John Stith, born in Kirkham Parish, Lancashire, England in 1640, emigrated with his family to Virginia c.1650, married the widow Jane Parsons, and died 1694.
