"The son of REV. JOHN & REBECCA BOWERS, he married Lydia French on Nov. 4, 1691 at Derby, CT. Att a Town Meeting at Derby June 2, 1685: the town has granted to Samuel Bowers a home lot of four acres.

Dec. 25, 1694, Samuel Bowers chosen constable for the year ensuing. Also, the town has renewed a former grant of 20 acres of land to Samuel Bowers.

Samuel Bowers was listed as an inhabitant of Derby in 1696.

March 14, 1703, Samuel Bowers is listed as a proprietor of Sentinel Hill field.

Dec. 12, 1704, chosen constable.

Dec. 1706, Samuel Bowers mentioned in Derby records in regard to working on the meeting house.

Jan. 9, 1707 Samuel Bowers agreed to beat the drum for 20 shillings until the next August.
