Samuel Crane, son of Hartwell Crane and Rachel Collins, was born in Washington, Sullivan Co., New Hampshire on June 22, 1837; was a sergeant in Company A., 8th NH regiment in the Rebellion, and d. at New Orleans, Apr. 29, 1864, from wounds received at Alexandria, Lousiana.
