Samuel Hall made his will on January 25, 1690, and died soon afterwards. His

widow Elizabeth and his son John were executors. Samuel Hall's homestead was

about a mile east of his father's, and it was near the bloomery which he was

largely interested in supplying. He was a large land holder, sharing in the

"Taunton North and South Purchases," also inheriting and purchasing in the

original tract. Samuel held minor offices in town, was a member of the original

church, and contributed four acres towards improving the parsonage for Rev.

Samuel Danforth.

The will of Samuel Hall, Sr., of Taunton, was dated 25 January 1689, and he

gave to son Samuel 10 acres of land on which his farm was standing, and he named

son George; wife Elizabeth; daughters Elizabeth, Mary, Sarah, and Hannah; wife

and son John to be Exrs. Overseers were Nathaniel Williams and John White.

Witnesses were John Cowell, Samuel Paul (Page), and Joseph Hall. (Bristol County

On 22 July 1707, widow Elizabeth Pratt, (Samuel's widow, Elizabeth (White) Hall

had remarried.) late of Taunton, sold 1/5 share in the old Iron Works, and her

son and daughters sold their shares as well: Samuel Hall (signed with his

mark), John Hall, Ebenezer Hall, John Caswell and Mary Caswell, Hannah

Wetherell, George Hall, and John Austin. (Bristol Deeds 17-36)
