Death and Funeral Notices published in "The West Australian" of Friday 4 September 1925:

"MORRIS. — On September 3. 1925, at the Fremantle Hospital. Samuel the dearly be loved husband of Mary Morris, of Milton, Silas-street, East Fremantle, and the father of Mrs. N. Miller, Mrs. J. Crocker. Mrs. F. Robson. Tom, George, and Nora Morris, aged 66 years.

"MORRIS.— The Friends of the late Mr. Samuel Morris, of the Fremantle Harbour Works, are respectfully invited to follow his remains to the place of interment, the Fremantle Cemetery. The Funeral will leave his late residence, Milton, corner of Silas and George streets. East Fremantle, TOMORROW (Saturday) AFTERNOON, at 2 o' dock, arriving at the Cemetery at 2.50 pm. ARTHUR E. DAVIES and CO., Undertakers, Fremantle and Claremont. Tel. B225."

Funeral described in "The Daily News" of Saturday 19 September 1925:

"THE LATE MR SAMUEL MORRIS The funeral of the late Mr Samuel Morris, of the Fremantle Harbor Works, and of Silas-street East Fremantle, took place on Saturday afternoon, the 5th instant, and was largely attended. The deceased, who was 66 years of age, was born at Newcastle (N.S.W.). He had resided in this State, and principally at Fre mantle, for the last 29 years. He was highly respected at the Port, and during his residence there he made many friends. A widow and a grown-up family of two sons and three daughters survive him. The funeral cortege moved from the abovs residence, and proceeded to the Fremantle Cemetery, where the Rev. F. G. Holland officiated. The chief mourners were: Mrs S. Morris (wife), Messrs. Thomas and George Morris (sons), Mesdames J. Crocker and F. Robson, and Miss Nora Morris (daughters), Mrs. G. Morris (daughter-in-law), Messrs. Neil Miller and James Crocker (sons-in-law). The pall-bearers were: Messrs. W. Glasson (president). C. Sulli van (secretary), J McKay, C. Reid, W. Steele, and S. Robinson, of the Coastal Docks River and Harbor Works Union of Workers. The coffin-bearers were: Messrs. J. Anderson. M. McCaffery. F. Cameron, J. Hill, J. Pollard, and K. McGre gor, of the Fremantle Harbor Works. Wreaths were sent by the Harbor Works' employes. Coastal Dock. River and Harbor Works' Union of Workers, other bodies, relatives, and many friends. Numerous communications of sympathy have been received by the bereaved relatives. The funeral arrangements were in the hands of Messrs. Arthur E. Davies and Co. of Fremantle and Claremont."
