About Samuel Patrick

Brothers, Samuel and John Patrick settled in Blandinville in the mid 1800's founding a little town (which has disappeared) and established large farms. Many of Samuel's descendants are still there. -------------------- Samuel was educated at Monson Academy, after which he settled in Brimfield where he taught 8 winters until 1837. At that time, he moved to Black Walnut Grove, IL. He was a teacher of penmanship. He was described as a "delicate, frail man". He established a school in Illinois and a post office called "Lee". He was appointed postmaster in Oct. 1840.
