

12. SAMUEL, b. September 26, 1751, in Brookfield, MA. In March, 1779, he went to Woodstock, Vt., and took up 100 acres of land on Slayton Hill. He built a log cabin to live in while clearing up his land. Jan. 1, 1780, he m. in Woodstock, Hannah Stowe from Walpole, N. H. Prosperity attended them; he built a frame house in 1788; additions were made to his farm and family until he was the proprietor of 510 acres of land and eleven children. His wife Hannah, b. Oct. 3, 1761, in Middletown, Ct.; she d. April 2, 1813, in S. W. [South Woodstock, Vt, later known as Woodstock, VT] For his second wife Samuel m. Miss Sibbel Call, Jan. 12, 1817, in Hartland, Vt. She was b. Feb. 16, 1779, in Hartland; d. Sept. 3, 1847, S. W. Samuel d. Aug. 10, 1830, S. Woodstock. Eleven children.
