About Sarah Cady

http://www.anamericanfamilyhistory.com/Davis%20Family/DavisSarahCady.html Sarah Davis Cady was born on August 12, 1667 in Groton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. Her parents were Samuel Davis, Sr. and Mary Waters.

She married Captain Joseph Cady in 1689. Joseph was born in Watertown on May 28, 1666. His parents were Nicholas Cady and Judith Knapp. Joseph Cady “was noted for his giant frame and physical prowess, and gained great influence over the Indians."

Sarah and Joseph's children were Joseph Cady (1690), William Cady (1692), James Cady (1694), Isaac Cady (1696/97), Abigail Cady (1698/99), Stephen Cady (1701), David Cady (1703), Jonathan Cady (1705), and Benjamin Cady (1707).

In 1699/1701 he was given permission to open an inn. They sold their land in Groton on February 22, 1702/03 and bought 150 acres in Killingly. The farm was located north of the old Providence road. Joseph built “a pretentious house” in 1714. The house was two stories with the conventional stone chimney. It had a huge oven and fireplace in the kitchen and fireplaces for the reception and family rooms. There were six rooms on each floor.

Sarah Davis Genealogical Guide To The Early Settlers Of America page 136 Samuel Davis, of Groton, by wife Mary, had a daughter born Sarah August 12, 1667 From what I can tell Samuel was born in Cambridge in 1639 some time after that he moved to Groton and sired six children with Mary(Meadows) Davis all six of these children where born between 1662 to 1664 then the last daughter that was born in April 10, 1674; and died in December 28, 1699 places Samuel in Groton still. Some time after 1699 he must have moved to Concord Middlesex County where he died October 30, 1720. Sarah was the third child born in Groton
