The friends and relatives of Mrs. Clarissa Graham were called to her bedside Monday evening June 17 with the realization that her hour to depart from this life to eternity, was near at hand, and at eight o'clock she quietly passed away.
The deceased was born near Woodfield, Monroe county Ohio, December 23, 1844, and was married at Jeffersonville, Wayne county, Illinois, July 19, 1864. In October 1867, she and family moved from that place to Kansas and located on a farm two miles south of this city which as been their constant home since that time. She leaves a husband, three daughters, and three sons, who were all present at her death. Her life for the last seven years has been passed in almost constant sickness and affliction, and at last she was a victim of quick consumption.
Mrs. Graham lived to see her family at an age of realization as to their moral and Christian responsibilities, and as a mother has ever admonished them to be good moral and Christian men and women and ever holding before them the banner of Christ, having been a firm believer in the Christian faith since 17 years of age.
