Talgje, Stjernarøy. Sæbjørn tok over Talgje etter faren. Han og broren Tore er nemnde i to herredagsdomar frå 1557 og 1578 i høve tvist om arven etter ein nær slektning av seg, hustru Cesilie. Av hustrutittelen går fram at ho var av adelaætt. Ein veit ikkje med tryggleik kven ho var dotter åt, men ho var nok av ei ætt som hadde ått Randa. Det har vore gissa på at ho var dotter til Gudrun Ormsdtr. og andre mannen hennar, Hans Marteinson. Cesilie og mor til Sæbjørn og Tore kan da ha vore halvsystre. Det gir i så høve forklåringa på den nære skyhldskapen. Cecielie var gm vepnaren Sjur Mattson, ein av dei mykje omskrivne Mattsønene. Sjur og Cesilie budde på Randa i 1519. Dei hadde nokre born saman, men Cecilie døydde medan borna var små. Ingen av borna vaks opp, og Sjur vart sitjande med Randa uskifta så lenge han levde. Han levde i 1532 og budde etter alt å døma i Talgje. Han vart ved eit høve kalla "Siuordt Mattszøn paa Talgje". Etter at Sjur var død, tok dei to brørne Sæbjørn og Tore Toresøner, som dei næraste ættlingane etter Cecilie, heile Randagodset til seg. Men da kom dei i strid med brørne etter Sjur, som kravde brorsarv. Herredagsdomen i 1557 gav Mattsønene medhald i kravet. Men Sæbjørn og Tore heldt fram med å sitja med alt saman. Det vart ny sak og ny herredagsdom i 1578. Her vart Sæbjørn og Tore på ny dømde til å gå med på deling. Tore kan da ha løyst inn Randa. Han budde der til han døydde, (Randa 4, Hjelmeland 3 s. 215). Sæbjørn og Tore Toresøner var særs velståande. I 1563 betalte Sæbjørn 10 dalar i skatt. Han må minst ha ått 20 laupar smør jordegods utanom Talgje. Tore som budde på 4 laups garden Randa, betalte 6 dalar, 4 lodd og 3 qvintin sølv i skatt. I fylgje lensrekenskapen og jordebøker åtte Sæbjørn og Tore dette jordegodset i Rogaland: 1. Talgje, skyld da 2 laupar smør og 2 pd korn. 2. Mesteparten av øya Hidle, 5 laupar smør og 1/2 pd korn. 3. Randa i Fister, 4 laupar smør og 1 pd korn. 4. Kåda i Fister, 3 3/4 laupar smør. 5. Mesteparten av Kårhus, 3 laupar smør. 6. Heile Kylhus, 1 laup smør, begge gardar i Vats. 7. Ein part på 1/2 laup smør i Aukland, Ombo, Hjelmeland. 8. Buer, Hjelmeland, 1 pd smør. 9. Nårstad, 1 1/2 laup smør. 10. 1/2 laup og 6 1/2 mrk smør i Heggheim i Årdal. 11. 1/2 laup smør i Førre i Jøsenfjorden 12. 1/4 laup smør i Tysse i Erfjord. 13. 6 mrk smør i Nevøy i Jelsa. 14. 1/2 laup smør og 1 riksmark i Sunnanå i Sauda. 1 riksmark var etter nytakts rekna for 9 mark smør. 15. 1 laup smør og 1/2 pd korn i Eike i Vats. 16. 2 1/4 vett korn i Vestre i Skjold.

Det er berre Olav Koll på Skiftun og Olav Lauritson på Nesheim (5) som betalte høgare skatt av jordegods.

Sæbjørn og broren Tore Sæbjørnson hadda arva mykje jordgods som det ble mye strid om..  Bestemoren var Gyrid Bårddatter og søster av Herborg Bårdsdatter.
