(son of John Sears and Sarah Wagstaff). Born March 8, 1844, Caldecot, England. Came to Utah 1866.

   Married:	Anne Chission, who died.
   Married:	Mary Ann Needham.
   Married:	Isabel M. Whitney April 1869, Salt Lake City (daughter of Newel Kimball Whitney and Emeline B. Woodward, pioneers 1848). She was born November 2, 1848.
   Their children:

           Septimus W., Jr.;
           Lucille L.;
           Emilie, married J. G. Roberts;
           Eugene S., married Eleanor Rhein;

   Family home Salt Lake City.

Superintendent Utah State Fair Association. Member state legislature 1894. Manager ZCMI several years. In 1879 he chartered the ship “Ivy” and shipped a cargo of Utah wheat to Europe. In San Francisco, London and Salt Lake City he was called the “Utah Wheat King.” Died April 7, 1903, Salt Lake City. Sources:
