About Siegfried Salomon Landshut
Siegfried Landshut was born in Strasburg, West Prussia. He became a German political scientist and sociologist and was an assistant at the Institute for Foreign Policy in Hamburg from 1925 to 1927. He then became a research assistant to Eduard Heimann at the Social-Economic Seminar at the University of Hamburg. He fled from Germany in 1933 to avoid antisemitism and moved to Egypt from 1933 to 1936 and also from 1945 to 1948, and lived in Palestine from 1936 to 1945. He returned to Hamburg in 1951 as a professor of political sociology and later political science at the University of Hamburg. He has written a number of books.
