About Henry Griffith, I

The Griffith Baronetcy, of Burton Agnes in the County of York, was created in the Baronetage of England on 7 June 1627 for Henry Griffith. The title became extinct on the death of his son, the second Baronet, in 1656. The family seat was Burton Agnes Hall, Burton Agnes, Yorkshire. Frances Griffith, daughter and sole heiress of the first Baronet, married Sir Matthew Boynton, 1st Baronet, through which marriage the house came into the Boynton family .

Sir Henry Griffith 1st Baron of Burton Agnes---Henry Griffith (d.1620), was knighted by James I in 1603 and was responsible for building the Elizabethan/Jacobean new Burton Agnes Hall. Around the same time when appointed High Sheriff of Yorkshire, Built between 1598 and 1610. It is a stately home that has stayed within the family for more than four hundred years. Fifteen generations have filled the Hall with treasures.
