Biographical Summary

"Craig, Sir James Gibson-, of Riccarton, Bart. — Apprentice to William Anderson. — Second son of William Gibson, Merchant in Edinburgh. Born 11th October 1765. Died 6th March 1850. Mar. 14th September 1796, Anne, youngest daughter of James Thomson, Merchant in Edinburgh. Assumed the name of Craig by royal licence on 30th May 1823. Created a Baronet 30th September 1831."
