  • Sir John Pecche, son (an presumably heir apparent [of John by his 1st wife]), at Boroughbridge bore his father's arms, differenced by a label. He may have been killed in that battle; and in any event he probably dvp (l). [Complete Peerage X:343]
  • (l) The father is called John Pecche the elder in the protection of Jan 1321/2, but not in that of March following; nor is he so called in 1327 and 1328, when he and his 2nd wife were suing for her dower from her 1st husband in Duntan in Arden. On the other hand, he was defendant in 1328, as John Pecche the elder, in an action brought by the executors of Ida, late wife of John de Cliinton; and on 27 Oct 1329, as John Pecche the elder, he acknowledged debts to his sons Nicholas, Edmund, and Ralph, who may have been illegitimate.
  • (b) Sir John Pecche, the kinsman and heir in 1350, d. 6 Feb 1375/6. His son and heir, Sir John Pecche, then aged 15, dspm. 1 May 1386, leaving 2 daughters and coheirs, Joan and Margaret, aged respectively 2 3/4 years, and 1 day, when the inquisition was taken. Joan dsp. in or before 1410, when Margaret with her husband Sir William Mountford, of Coleshill, and Catherine, widow of Sir John Pecche, chivaler, made a settlement of the whole property
