"Sir Neil Menzies, Baronet [S. 1665], of Castle Menzies, only s. and h., b. 16 Aug. 1780; Advocate [S.], 6 March 1802 ; suc. to the Baronetcy, 8 March 1813 ; Lieut.-Col. of the Royal Highland Perthshire Militia. He m. firstly, 6 June 1808, Emilia, da. of Francis Balfour, of Fernie, co. Fife, by ( — ), da. of ( — ) Balfour, of Dunbog. She d. s.p.m. 1 Nov. 1810. He m. secondly, 3 Dec. 1816, Grace Charlotte Conyers, sister of Fletcher (Norton), 3d Baron Grantley, 1st da. of the Hon. Fletcher Norton, by Caroline Elizabeth, da. of James Balmain. He d. 20 Aug. 1844, at Edinburgh, aged 64. His widow, who was 6. at Edinburgh, May 1794, and who by Royal Warrant was raised in 1831 to the rank of the da. of a Baron, d. 3 Jan. 1877, aged 83, at 13 Grosvenor street, Edinburgh."
