Sir Richard Hoare was born on 2 March 1709.1 He was the son of Henry Hoare and Jane Benson.2 He married Sarah Tully, daughter of James Tully, on 24 April 1732.1 He married Elizabeth Rust, daughter of Edward Rust, on 30 June 1737.1 He died on 12 October 1754 at age 45.1

He held the office of Lord Mayor of London in 1745.1 He was invested as a Knight in 1745.1
