"Sir Robert Menzies, Baronet [S. 1665], of Castle Menzies, 1st s. and h. by 2nd wife, b. 26 Sep. 1817, at Abbey Hill, Edinburgh; mat. at Oxford (Univ. Coll.), 23 June 1837, rowing in the University Eight; S.C.L., 1842; suc. to the Baronetcy, 20 Aug. 1844; Capt. in the Perthshire Militia, 1855-56 ; Hon. Col., 5th Vol. Batt. Black Watch. He m. 10 June 1846, Annie Balcarres, 6th da. of Major James Alston Stewart, of Urrard, co. Perth. She d. 29 April 1878, at Farlayer, in that county. He d. 22 April 1903, at Camserney Cottage, Aberfeldy, and was bur. at St. Davids, Weem, aged 85."
