About Vincent Corbet, MP, 1st Bt of Moreton Corbet
Sir Vincent Corbet, 1st Baronet (13 June 1617 – 1657) was an English lawyer and politician who sat in the House of Commons in 1640. He fought on the Royalist side in the English Civil War.
Corbet was the son of Sir Andrew Corbet, of Moreton Corbet, Shropshire and his wife Elizabeth Boothby. He was baptized at Morton Corbett on 13 July 1617. He matriculated at Queen's College, Cambridge on 24 October 1634. He was of Lincoln's Inn in 1637.

He supported the King and was created a baronet of Moreton Corbet on 29 January 1642. Moreton Corbet Castle, the home of the Corbet family was repeatedly damaged during the Civil War
Corbet died at the age of 40 and was buried at Morton Corbet on 21 January 1657.
Corbet obtained a licence to marry Jane Acton, daughter of John Acton, citizen and goldsmith on 15 July 1642. His wife is recorded as Sarah Monson, daughter of Sir Robert Monson, of Carlton, Lincolnshire, who was created Viscountess Corbet for life in 1679.
