About Stephen Root

He was one of the greatest racers of his day. He was never out run except by the Indians. He was engaged in the battle at Fort Narragansett where the Indian fort was destroyed. He was engaged in the Indian wars for about 2 1/2 years. He was known as the giant of Farmington, where he resided, being six feet, six inches tall.
