STEPHEN SELFE and JANE JOYCE his Wife, one of the Daughters of JOHN GARNER, late of this County, deced., by their Petition to this Court sett forth that JOHN GARNER by his Last Will and Testament did give and bequeath to his Daughter the sum of twenty pounds sterling and that WILLIAM GARNER, Executor of the Will, refused the payment thereof, and WILLIAM being called and saying nothing in barr of the Petition, upon motion of STEPHEN &JANE JOYCE Judgment is granted them against WILLIAM GARNER for the sum of twenty pounds sterling and it is ordered he pay the same with costs als Execution

IN THE NAME OF GOD, Amen, I STEPHEN SELF being in perfect helth an memory doe ordain constitute apoint this my Last Will and Testament revoakeing all other Wills made by me. Imprimis. I give to my Son, PHILIP, a bay Mare an a Iron pot an a bed; I give and bequeave to my Son, BENJAMINE, a black Mare an a Iron pot an a bed I give to my Son, JOBE, a young Mare an young Horse an a Iron pot an bed I give to my Son, FRANCIS, a bed an a Iron pot an I give likewise to my Son, FRANCIS, the Land where I live from the lain that parts my Son, STEPHEN and to him and his heirs forever, And if please God he deseases without heir lawfully begoten, then the same mentioned land to my Son, JOB, and his hears for ever only thee same mentioned land my three younger Sones shall have liberty three years after my deceas: an all the rest of my Estate to be equaly devided amongst all my Children; As Witnes my hand this the 14 day of August one thousand seven hundred an thirty one 1731

At April Court last, FRANCIS {sic STEPHEN} SELF, JUNR., presented into Court this Writing importing the Last Will & Testament of his Father, STEPHEN SELF. deced., which was proved by THOMAS SELF & JAMES SELF, two of the witnesses thereto, but for that no Executor being in the sd. Will named, it was then ordered to be lodged till further proceedings should be had thereon; And now at this Court upon the petition of STEPHEN SELF, the Son & heir of the sd. Decedent and making Oath to the sd. Will, the same is admitted to Record; And on his performing what is usual in such cases, Certificate is granted him for obtaining Letters of Administration on the Decedents Estate with the Will annexed in due form Test G. TURBERVILE, C. C. W.
