James and Ann moved to Hopkins, Missouri in Nodaway County about 1885/86. They remained there the rest of their lives. James farmed all of his life. James was granted an Invalid Pension on August 5, 1890 and this was increased on March 27, 1908. In 1910, James and Ann celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a large family gathering and a portrait was made of the entire family as it existed at that time. Stephen James Warren died on December 15, 1912 in Hopkins, Misouri. Ann was granted a Widow's Pension for her husbands service on December 30, 1912. Ann (Aukland) Warren died on February 4, 1920 in Hopkins. Their earthly remains were laid to rest in the Hopkins Cemetery in Hopkins, Missouri.
