Tarelton was a militia officer, justice in 1728, vestryman of St. James' Parish in 1729, and sherif in 1730, and succeeded Col. William Randolph, deceased, as a vestryman of St. James Northam Parish 23 September 1745. Tarleton, who patented 800 acres in Goochland County in 1746, made a will in Goochland leaving land to his son, Tarelton, and 500lbs each to daughters, Susanna, Hannah, Elizabeth, and Judith". -------------------- Source: Southside Virginia Genealogies

Tarleton Fleming, Oct.30, 1750, Dec. 18, 1750. D.B. 6, pg. 113-114. To son, Tarleton Fleming, all land, Negroes, stock, utensils and all my estate real and personal. To each of my four daughters: Susanna, Hanna, Elizabeth and Judith, 500 lbs. current money of Va, they to live on my plantation until they marry. Ex: Sons, Tarleton Fleming and John Fleming , Jr. Tarleton Woodson, Jr. and Jacob Woodson, Wit: Elizabeth Bates, Eliza. Woodson, John Bates, William Fleming and James Meredith.
