Theodocia Snelling was the daughter of William Snelling and Sarah Scott. She was born March 27, 1807 in Breckinridge County, Kentucky. She married John Hutchison (or Hutchinson) in Caldwell County, Kentucky on May 28, 1828. By 1850 they were living in Missouri with four children. In 1870, she was living with her daughter in Lane County, Oregon, where she died in 1887. She is buried in the Gillespie Cemetery, Eugene, Lane County, Oregon. Theodocia Hutchison was buried next to her son, William C. Hutchison. He died twenty years earlier, at the age of 32.

Theodocia's name is found spelled many ways. She is sometimes listed as Theodora. The spelling used on this profile matches what was used on her marriage license.
