About Thomas Gaines
Thomas married a Margaret Bush twice - unknown whether it was the same Margaret Bush each time, or two different wives - each with the name of Margaret Bush. Thomas moved to Newberry, South Carolina in 1795 when he purchased 250 acres from his brother, Rev. Henry Gaines. This land was located in the ford of the Broad and Saluda Rivers.
