About Thomas Kinnicut Beecher

Thomas & Julia adopted the children of Charles Samuel Farrar.

Thomas was ordained in Williamsburg, across the East River from New York City, in Sept. 1851.

He was a Clergyman and the principal of several schools. There is a memorial statue built in Elmira, New York were he spent a large portion of his life. He was a close friend of Mark Twain. He graduated from Illinois College in 1843.

Beecher received a call in 1854 from the Park Church in Elmira, New York to become their minister. He remained as pastor until his death.

He served during the Civil War as Chaplain of the 141st New York Volunteer Infantry.

Biography

Thomas K. Beecher was a preacher and principal of many schools. He was a close friend of Mark Twain and married him to Olivia Langdon Clemens.
