About Thomas Lawson

Thomas Lawson was born August 1803 in Clinch River, Hawkins County,Tennessee and died February 1891 in Stephenville, Erath County, Texas.  He is buried in the Huckabay Cemetery, Erath County, Texas but there is no marker.  

Parents:  Randolph Lawson (1752-1848) and Susannah Cross (1765-1844)


  1. Nancy Jeffers (1808-1862).  She was the daughter of William Jeffers (b. 1790) and Mary ??? (b. 1791). 15 children.
  2. Sarah M. Beck (widow of John Groom) on May 15, 1869. She passed away on February 17, 1880. No children.
  3. Eliza Jane, (widow of Thomas Sanders) on April 25, 1880. They had one daughter: Martha.

  5.  Christina b after June 1830 in Campbell Co. TN. Married 1) William Felty 2) Allen McDonald 3) Greenberry Bowlen.  
  6. Lewis b: 1833 in Campbell Co., TN.  Married Jane Ellison Worley (b 1844). They lived in Erath TX & died in ARK.
  7. Jeremiah Mars (1834-1898) b in Campbell Co., TN; died in Hill Co., TX.  Married 1) Nancy Ellen Barnes (1834-1855).  2) Sarah Ann Norris.  Notes:    Member of Co. A U.S. Volunteer Inf. as a Pvt.  From info provided by Bobby Lane, decendant of Sara Etta, Jeremiah deserted family after being refused pension and as to where he went and /or died is unknown.
