Penfolds of Itchingfield

The Penfolds of Itchingfield appear to have arrived from Billingshurst and Horsham though further research needs to be carried out. The following families have been found in Itchingfield from the late 1770’s. Earlier marriages have been found, however, and it is likely earlier baptisms also occur. The registers are very difficult to read, very faded and untidy. William & Sarah Penfold appear in Itchingfield in April 1777, John & Elizabeth Penfold married in Itchingfield in 1781.
