Thomas Tickna Berrington arrived in South Africa with his parents Thomas Berrington and Diana Collin in 1820 on the "Northampton". His mother was 27 years old and he was but one year old.

He married Sarah Crouch in 1844. Thomas Tickna and Sarah had four children; Thomas Fredrick b 1845, James Edwin b 1847, William Frances b 1848, and one other child who was born in 1845. I do not know whether this was a twin or if the information I have is incorrect.
