Funeral services for T.C. Thornton, Sr., of 2302 Park Street, will be conducted from the Park Street Baptist church by the Rev. Paul Wheeler, pastor, at 4:30 this afternoon. Mr. Thornton died at the Baptist hospital Friday evening after having been ill for several months. Interment will be in Elmwood cemetery.

A member of the Park Street Baptist church, Mr. Thornton was chairman of the board of registration for Richland county.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Leila McCreight Thornton; four daughters, Mrs. Y.D. Dreher, Mrs. F.W. Ketchen, Mrs. R.E.L. Park, and Miss Mildred Thornton, all of Columbia; two sons, T.C. Thornton, Jr., of Charleston, and W.A. Thornton of Columbia; one sister, Mrs. John Motley of Blaney; 13 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Active pallbearers will be: H.G. Ward, Charles Dantzler, C.K. Leitner, Astor Cleveland, M.O. Youmans and Walter May.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Dr. G.M.S. Roof, A.Z. Bunch, Forrest Shealy, T. Alex Heise, W.M. Mobley, H.L. Seay, John M. Corbett, James L. Harrison, J.W. Blume, J.T.
