Timothy Newton was born May 17, 1737 to Elisha Newton and Sarah Tomlin at Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and died June 31,1818 at Hubbardston, Massachusetts.

Stowe and Bennett list Newton among the "founding fathers" of Hubbardston based on him having been in town no later than 1766.

Timothy Newton and Huldah Wheelock married on February 10, 1763 in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, their marriage banns having been published November 20, 1762 also at Shrewsbury.

His children with Huldah were:
