Tobias Tharratt, a gardener aged 39, came to South Africa with Dalgairns' Party, with his wife Ann, 34, and children John, 6, and Tobias, 5.

Tobias had previously attempted to come over with another rejected party proposed by James Wilmot (see Wilson's Party).
