Gunnhild's father was King of Sweden Olof (Mitkg) Bjornsson and her mother was Ingeberg Thrandsdottir. Her paternal grandparents were King of Uppsala Bjorn (The Old) Eriksson and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were Earl of Sula Thrando of Sula and <Unknown>. She had a brother and two sisters, named The Strong, Gyrithe and Cyrid. She was the oldest of the four children.


Harald Blåtand var gift med Tove datter af den vendiske fyrste Mistivoj. En runesten, som Tove lod rejse til minde om sin moder, er den eneste kilde om hende: Runestenen i Sønder Vissing ca. 30 km nord for Jelling har teksten: ”Tofa (Tove), Mistivojs datter, Harald den Godes, Gorms søns kone, lod gøre dette dødeminde efter sin moder.[10] Det vides ikke, om Tove er moder til noget eller nogen af Haralds kendte børn.

Tove of the Obotrites, also called Tova, Tofa or Thora, (10th century) was a Slavic princess and a Danish Viking Age queen consort, the spouse of King Harald Bluetooth.

Thora (Tova) was the daughter of Prince Mistivir of the Obotrites. She married King Harald in 970. It is not known whether she was the mother of any of her spouse's children. She raised the Sønder Vissing Runestone in memory of her mother.
