About Tryphena Adair

Tryphena "Phene" Terrell Adair was the daughter of Aaron Terrell and Annie E. Woodall Terrell Hendricks. She had two brothers: William "Ross" Terrell and Andrew Terrell who died at the age of 10. Her mother Annie Woodall Terrell later married Franklin Hendricks; her half-brothers and sisters are: George William Hendricks, Richard F.B. "Robert" Hendricks, Susanne "Susie" or "Sood" Hendricks Cordrey; Mary "Mollie" Hendricks Owens, and Della Hendricks who died at the age of 7.

Her first marriage was to S. T. Bell.

In Tahlequah, OK, in 1903, she married John Martin Adair who served with the Rough Riders and was an uncle of Will Rogers. They had no children. She was 1/4 Cherokee.
