About Underhill Barnes
From Josephine C. Frost, Underhill Genealogy, Vol. 4, (Privately Published for the The Underhill Society of America, 1932), pg. 8:
"At a special court held in Westchester, N. Y., May 5, 1712: "Came before us, Underhill Barnes, a minor about 17 years of age, son and heir of William Barnes of Westchester, Esq., deceased, and Hannah, his wife, which said Hannah since the death of said William, married one Daniel Clarke of Westchester, gent., and the said Hannah is also now lately dead, therefore the said Underhill prays to be admitted to his guardian and hath nominated and chosen the said Daniel Clark, his father-in-law (step-father) and Joseph Budd, of Rye, Esq., his uncle, to be his guardians."
