About Wanda Mae Virgin
The above photo was taken at the home on Foster Avenue in San Bernardino, California, of Wanda's mother-in-law, Gertha, with Bish, and it was later the home of Gertha's daughter Shirley and her husband, Clint M. Peppers, Jr. There are other photos of Wanda under the Media Tab above, including one with Doris June & Juanita Marie Peppers (Clint Peppers, Jr's. sisters). The other photo is of the cemetery where Wanda is buried in Whittier, California. I lived about 5 miles from there in Rosemead when we lived in California. Della D. Smith 4/28/13.
The information shown below is from Find A Grave.com, and it looks like the post there was made by Wanda's granddaughter, Dawn, who is my 4th cousin. Her ancestor, John Eller Welker, was the brother of my second great grandmother, Roxana Louisa Welker Madsen. John and Roxana were the children of John Welker (b. 1826 in Jackson County, Ohio) and Roxana Mahalia Dustin Welker (b. 1833 in Genesee County, New York). They were both early converts to the Mormon Church and their religion took them from Ohio to Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Utah, Idaho, and finally Arizona, where both of them died, Louisa in 1904 and John in 1913.
Beloved wife of Merle. Mother to Tammy and John. Beloved Grandmother of Dawn, Nikki, Jaime, and Stacey. Great Grandmother of Kirsten, Ian, Logan, Erin, Aden, Hannah, Carson, Morgan, and Ethan. Passed away a month after an accident in the Azusa Mountains caused by a person on drugs. Only the oldest, Dawn, has the honor of remembering this beautiful woman out of all the grandchildren.
