Mr William Arthur Lobb, 30, known as Arthur, was born at Rockhead, Delabole, Cornwall in mid-1881. He was the son of Mr George Lobb (China Clay Labourer) and Mary Ann Lobb (née Cole). He had an elder sister, Beatrice.
He had emigrated to America in the early 1900's and worked as an engine driver for the Lackawanna Railroad Company in Scranton, PA. His home in Scranton was at 1711 Swetland Street. He married Cordelia K. Stanlick (an American Citizen) in Scranton on 21 April 1909. A brother in Cornwall passed away early in 1912 and Arthur and Cordelia decided on a family visit to his parents and his sister, who was by then Mrs Pidwell of Robartes Road, Bodmin.
Their return journey to Scranton was on board Titanic as third class passengers (ticket number A/5. 3336, £16 2s). Both William and Cordelia were lost in the sinking. Letters of Administration were granted to his father, George Lobb at Bodmin on 3 August 1912. William had left effects to the value of £50 in Cornwall.
