"...In 1789 William bought 500 acres from Abraham Fulkerson lying on north side of French Board River, on the first creek below Dumplin Creek, now Tuckahoe, in Green County, Territory South of the Ohio. Formerly this territory had been Washington County, North Carolina. Later it was Jefferson County, and now Knox County, Tennessee. This was William's home for about 10 years. Rachel died there about 1799. The same year William sold 250 acres and gave 157 acres to his son John and in 1800 gave the remaining 90 acres to his son Jacob. In 1802 William and several children moved back to North Carolina..."
"...In 1803 William married Rachel Johnson of Fairfax County. They had four children and lived for a time at New Garden in Guilford County. In 1806 they all moved to Back Creek in Randolph County, where William died about 1814..."
