About William Staten Jackson

William Staten, and Clarissa Lanier Jackson. William was born in 1800 in Screven County, Georgia, and died March 12, 1872 in Dade City, Pasco County, Florida in 1872. I have visited his grave site in Mount Zion Cemetery, Dade City Florida, several times. Clarissa was born in 1803, and died in 1837. She died before William moved Florida in the early 1840's with a land grant in Levy County, Florida, however, he settled in Pasco County. He was a founding father of Dade City, Florida, and surrounding area there. In front of the old Pasco County Courthouse are plaques representing the Founding Fathers, among them is one for William Staten Jackson.
