William Lawson Junior, like his father, also served the patriot's cause in the Revolutionary War and has been approved as a Patriot by both the DAR and SAR.
Military Service: Fall of 1779 to Spring of 1780, Served 3 months in Capt. Levary's Company as a substitute for Henry Yarberry (Yarborough). Rendezvoused at Court House of Franklin Co., NC . William "recollects then being in his sixteenth year" and resided in Franklin Co., NC. Note: After his discharge, William returned to Franklin Co., NC, where he left his discharge papers with "some of his friends" and never retrieved them. He "was in no battle at all." He went from Franklin Co., to his uncle's "on the water of Adkin" where he spent a year.
Ordained Methodist minister.
