Stothert, WILLIAM, Esq. of Cargen, in the Stewartry of Kirkcudbright, b. 29 Oct. 1791; m. 1st, 7 Nov 1815, a dau of Robert Monteith, Esq. of Rocksoles, and has by her two sons, James and William, and two daus., Maria, wife of James Rolland, Esq., W.S.; and Henrietta. Mr Stothert m 2ndly, 10 Jan. 1827, a dau of Admiral Deans, of Huntington, and by her has three sons, Robert, Thomas, and Richard, and two daus., Isabella and Eliza. Mr Stothert, who is son of late James Stothert, Esq. of Cargen, by his wife, Margaret Cockburn, of Rochester, co. Berwick, and grandson of Thomas Stothert, Esq, by Mary Johnston, his wife, s. his father in 1812, and is magistrate and deputy-lieut. He has one brother Thomas deceased, and two surviving sisters, Agnes and Margaret-Jemima.
